In this virtual world we live in now, content creators are everywhere, influencing our late night impulse purchases & having us think we need a very specific product to feel like our life is together.
The thing is ... most online organizing is optimized for filming — not real life living.
A system can look beautiful online and still completely fall apart in a busy household.
As a professional organizer, there are definitely micro systems and organizing products that I absolutely love. But overall, I believe the best organizing systems are the ones that can evolve with you as your life changes.
Because life changes constantly.
Kids grow.
Schedules shift.
Homes change.
Routines change.
Your storage systems should be flexible enough to change with them.
One of the biggest problems I see with highly specific organizing products is that they often only serve one exact purpose. And over time, all those tiny specialty containers end up becoming more clutter.
Items end up getting used briefly, no longer fit your lifestyle or organizational needs, then are shoved in a cabinet {or the garage} as clutter.
I prefer to set my clients up for success with fewer products — but products that offer longevity and flexibility.
Bins that can move from the pantry to bathroom. Containers that can adapt as routines change. Systems that don't completely fall apart the second life gets busy.
Because sustainable organization is not about maintaining a perfectly styled space every second of the day. It's about creating a home that functions well for real life.
